How to set up a monthly subscription with Paywhirl

I'm having trouble starting a monthly subscription plan on my page with Paywhirl. I'm not quite sure how to make it connect with my product to make it an viable way to purchase it.

3. Connect your product – In PayWhirl, assign the plan to the product you want to offer as a subscription.
4. Embed the subscription widget – PayWhirl automatically adds a subscription option to your product page, but double-check your theme settings to make sure it's visible.
