If I want to to add new scope, Do I Need To Resubmit The App?

I'm a newbie to Shopify app development. My app has already been published, but I need to add one scope.

Is it possible to add scope directly? Can you tell me what the process is? Is the app going to be resubmitted?

Does updating an app require approval?
