Integrating APIS in backend

Hello! First of all, I don't know much about software, maybe my questions could sound a bit silly.

I want to sell digital products with high DRM protection and I contacted a service, one of the services is a dinamic watermark, I want the watermark to show some data about the user that is watching the video, as the name or the IP. I asked the company about that and they told me: "if you want viewer specific details on the watermark like - name, email, userID, phone no. etc. then you will have to do integration/embedding via APIs (coding) or plugin based integration/embedding like for wordpress. You will have to integrate our APIs are your website backend. your website is 3rd party website and not a website which is built from scratch using coding languages. You will have to ask Shopify to integrate our APIs at their backend. You can reach out to Shopify team and request them to integrate our APIs at their backend. unless they do that, you will not be able to display viewer specific details as watermark."

Can somebody help me with this?
