Integrating App Web Pixels for Standard Event Tracking in Shopify App

I'm using the Shopify app template shopify-app-template-node for my Shopify app.

I want to integrate 'App Web Pixels' to track standard events [here] like product_viewed and page_viewed on my users' Shopify stores.

In my Express.js backend, I've installed @Shopify/web-pixels-extension via npm and created a file with the following code by referring to docs:

I have a couple of questions:

1. How can I use this file within Express.js? Simply exporting this above method and importing doesn't work.
2. Are there specific permissions required in the TOML file for these standard events to be logged?

If there are any relevant documentation resources you could point me to, that would be greatly appreciated.
