1) Make sure the bar codes are GS1 registered, any other bar codes are not valid and should be removed
2) If the manufacturer has assigned a bar code, then set GTIN, Brand and MPN values and set Identifier Exists to yes.
3) If the manufacturer has not assigned a bar code, then remove GTIN, Brand and MPN values and set Identifier Exists to no.
For 2 and 3 Check your data feed supplier documentation how to achieve this or contact support.
4) You can also if point 3, clear the data using feed rules: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en
You need to ask your manufacturer, If you are not the manufacturer you can't create GS1 bar codes.
Get in touch with your data feed supplier support team.
Otherwise, use feed rules, more info: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en-GB
If the app you are using is from Shopify, then you need to use Feed Rules. Please read the documentation as per previous posts.
I am also getting "Invalid Barcode". The barcode was assign per a barcode app. I received about 380 errors on barcodes alone. The items are dropshipping item and some are print on demand. I got the first barcode error before I put a barcode on them. Now I am having trouble with barcode error. Does anyone have any ideas?
As per previous post, the solution is to clear the attribute barcode and brand, and set identifier exists to no.
To do this you need to use feed rules. You can read how to do this here: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en
Alternatively, if you want to use an app with custom functions that allow you to easily edit all attribute data, consider using my application. Which has me as a specialist behind you helping you every step of the way.
I went to the link per your response until I got to step three.
3. Click the Rules tab at the top of the page. There is no rules at top of page. This shouldn't be that hard.
If the feed rules tab is not available, then you must have added the products manually, in this case rules do not exist.
Rules can be applied if you are using content API, google sheets, scheduled fetc.
If you continue to struggle, contact Google Merchant Center support directly or if you like you can contact me to help you personally.
As it seems like you created your own feed, here is a guide: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324478
Yes I enter every product one at a time. At that time I did not know about the csv file import. I still don't know how to use it, but I know it is possible. In Shopify I didn't have the three dots to import the csv file.
Anyway do you have any ideas on how to eliminate the "Barcode Invalid" error? I believe I received the error when there wasn't a barcode on any product. I fix this I installed the Shopify App Retail Barcode. It automatically put barcodes on every product. The message "Barcode Invalid" then came up on every product.
I would appreciate any help.
You can not use self generated bar codes. Only official GS1 international barcodes are approved. If the manufacturer has not assigned bar codes. Remove brand, mpn, gtin and set identifier exists to no.
If you do not know how to achieve this, get in touch with your data feed app support team.
If you think they are official and you paid for the bar codes, as they cost around $25 per bar code. Then simply submit the bar codes. However please remember that submitting invalid data is a policy violation.
If Google says they are invalid, then they are most likely not official GS1 bar codes.
You can do a barcode lookup here: https://gepir.gs1.org/index.php/search-by-gtin
