inventory input, addition and deduction by weight

Hi there,

I need an inventory system that can capture the inventory by weight (currently shopify's inventory does not allow for recording items with decimal) for sales online and in POS (retail store)

My inventory is by weight (eg 100kg ) and each time a sale is done, its based on weight of the product - eg 200gm or 300 gm. Shopify does not have an inventory based on weight , only by quantity and neither does it take decimal points, so I need an inventory app that can help to track my inventory by weight. the inventory will reduce by weight as sales progress or increase by weight when inventory is added

I heard in an earlier thread that tradegekco was used, but now that its being decommissioned in June 2022,  I dont know if there are alternatives. Appreciate if anyone has any advice? thanks in advance

Hey @meatkrafters you can check SKUSavvy which will allow you to keep inventory by weight in various units including decimals. For listings on Shopify, you still need to keep it by the unit and use variants to keep this separated. When orders come in, SKUSavvy will keep information about the unit weight (lb, kg, g, oz), l x w x h (in, mm, cm, foot, meter) and each time a unit is picked will subtract that quantity of product in its corresponding unit.

Thank you @kingstore  - useful advice! Will check out SKUSavvy. I also found another app called "Price embedded bar code scanner" by Filljoy that helps us scan weighted items by barcode, and upon successful sale, the inventory will get reduced associated sale . I m able to see the inventory in decimals in a separate pop up which is really useful as well. Thought I share this info too.
