Hello, I have encountered a technical problem with an app that I downloaded from the Shopify app store. When I contacted the app managers, they requested access to product and order information, which I provided. They have now asked for access to manage settings as well. I am wondering if it is safe to grant them access to manage settings. Could any person that have access to setting manage potentially take over my online store? Thank you in advance for your response.
This comes down to trust first and foremost, and if you're asking here that's likely the answer you know already know - no.
To help give you some confidence, ask why they need it. Post back here if you want a sanity check on what they say.
What's the issue trying to be solved?
It is less common for a partner/dev to need full access to a Shop and should never be the default request. Some things might need it, but better to ask and get the context before just opening the door without reason.
