App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hello,
I don't want to do a basic plan but just pay $12 a month to use the "Buy Button" to use on my website platform. I read that if I already had a website on a different platform that I could use "Buy Button" to put on my website without paying for the $29 a month. Does anyone else know about this option?

Hey, @astIntl! Welcome to Shopify Community!
If you only want to use the Buy Button on a personal website or blog, you have the option to downgrade to the $9 USD/month Shopify Lite plan. The Lite plan is for anyone who wishes to sell products but doesn't want to maintain an online store. To downgrade to this plan, you need to remove your online store by following the steps below.
Please note you will not lose access to any previously purchased or customized themes if you downgrade to the Lite plan, so they will be restored should you decide to add the Online Store again.
Have you given some thought on what benefits the Buy Button can bring to your business, besides lower operating costs? I highly recommend doing some research beforehand to see if it's the best move for your store. The Buy Button has everything an Online Store has, in terms of processing orders, however the Online Store can give you those, as well as more control over the way your products are showcased. You also have the ability to use certain third-party sales channels, such as the Facebook sales channel when you have the Online Store. If you need to look at the pros and cons of using the Buy Button, feel free to have a read through this article.

Hello. Now we have the downgraded plan and using the buy buttons on another site. If I upgrade to Basic plan, do we lose the buy buttons? I would still like to use them as we develop our full shopify store. Thanks.
Hey, @Gridd! Welcome to Shopify Community!
I'm glad to provide clarification on this. You will not lose your Buy Buttons if you upgrade to the Basic plan. The Buy Button is included in all subscription plans so you can continue using them without any issues.
Are you in the process of switching to a Shopify store? If so, it's worth considering keeping the Buy Buttons active on a different website as well. This allows you to diversify your sales channels and reach a wider audience, increasing your chances of making sales. Feel free to give that some thought!
Good luck on the store setup! If you need a guide, you can refer to this general setup checklist here. Let us know if you need help with anything else!
