Is there a decent Google Shopping App?

I tried Google Channel the Shopify app but it doesn’t work as expected.   We want to use the Google SEO titles field but Shopify always appends the variant title to that so it’s of no use.  Is there an app that lets you select the SEO title only.  Or just the product title or just the variant title , that doesn’t string these different fields together into an awful mess ?

Also do any handle preorders , that requires extra info (ie availability date) ?

Look into data feed applications, such as Shopping Feed by GoDataFeed.

I didnt use those apps because I dont want to pay fees, but thank you - Shopify support also said "paid app" 🙂

On PREORDERS, I'll just share the solution I used here in case anyone else hits the same problem.

In Shopify's user interface, having installed Google Channel app, I manually* populated the Google (Channel) Fields., as follows;

- Custom Field 0 with "preorder" and Custom FIeld 1 with a date eg "2021-12-31" being when the preorder would be available.  In Goole Merchant center I then set up "feed rules" like the picture below.  This then overrides the stock status in the feed from 'In stock' to 'Preorder' where I have filled in Custom Field 0 for a particular product, and means that Google also use the date in Custom Field 1 as their "availability date", which they 100% require for preorders.

*It has to be manual as the fields in the CSV upload dont work (confirmed by Shopify)

Hi,

We have noticed such concerns about the SEO titles (which are the same as yours). However, it is complicated to use or set those SEO title fields. So, why not just optimize the product feed titles to fit the platform?

Therefore, you should focus more on optimizing the title according to the SEO scoring. And, we would like to suggest you use the Socialshop app to get the job done.

With Socialshop, you can see the grade of your titles and what needs to be fixed to get a better SEO score BEFORE adding your product feeds to Google Shopping. As a result, you can have much better results from your feed titles.

You can also try the app with no limitations with a 14-day free trial to see if there is any feature that interests you.
