Is there an app for scanning order and product barcodes to make refunds?

Hi there,
There are quite a few apps for scanning an order number barcode and then the product barcodes

to minimalize mistakes in the fulfilment process. I am trying to find the same kind of app that can do

this for returns/refunds. Our staff sometimes refunds the wrong items out of a return.
Its important that the refund can be made out of the app directly.
Please let me know.

Do you need to scan via mobile phone? WHy dont use QR code instead barcode?

Because all items have barcodes on them and not QR codes.
What would that change?
