Is there an app for scheduling home banner slider updates?

Hello!

The store I am working on runs sales once a week. Right now they are manually being updated at midnight which certainly has it's drawbacks.

I can't seem to find an app that would allow scheduling. Is there such a thing? I'd be amazed if all the other stores that run sales are manually updating them as well?

Hi @EyefourDesign , I created an app that can help with this! The app is called Otto and allows you to schedule banners, slides and other images in your theme. This works really well for your use case.

Check out Otto here. We offer free custom installations into slideshows. Just email support@ottoscheduler.com and we'll do the initial setup. Once it's setup all you need to do is schedule your images via the app.

Hello Celso! Sorry, I totally missed your response on this.

We have three different places currently where we put copy - are these areas also offered? (and can format where the text goes)

Does it also have the option to have a separate mobile and desktop sized image? (On mobile the text goes under the image)

Hi @EyefourDesign no problem! Yes we include a few fields you can use for those text areas and the formatting can be customized. See below.

Currently you have to create an image for desktop and for mobile. We're exploring including a mobile option directly for each Otto placement.

Hi, I finally got around to installing the app. I'm having 2 issues...

1. The text and is not showing on the image

2. You noted "Currently you have to create an image for desktop and for mobile." Right now with the default slider we create a desktop and mobile image and we want to keep doing that. However I see no option to add both the desktop and mobile images or how to add a slider for desktop only and a slider for mobile only.

In terms of the issues I think you'll need a custom installation. Out of the box Otto comes with two sections 'Otto Image' and 'Otto Slideshow' both are already setup to show the image and text content.

We are actually launching mobile image support next week! The slider section will support desktop and mobile images out the box.
