Judge me reviews - not previously opting in customer?

In my store I wasn't planning on having people to sign up to a newsletter for now, I just want to get my store setup and everything first.  I feel like when you enroll people then you can potentially have GDRP requests etc which I don't want to handle right now as i'm still new (please feel free to enlighten me more on this one!)

Given this, if I use the Judge Me app and it sends an email after purchase, shouldn't I have gained permissions from customer to opt in to communications?
