Making custom UIs together with Checkout UI extension on thank you and order status pages

Hi guys, we are managing an app that displays a survey on the thank you and order status pages, and we want to clarify what is going to happen with the release of the Checkout UI extension.

Are we limited to the UI components provided by Shopify? Are the UI we been proving our customers going to be phased out and forced to be removed in place of these new UI components?
