Match SKU in Marketplace Connect

Match SKU in Marketplace Connect

Dear all,

I am just moving from WooCommerce to Shopify. One of the main reasons being the option to integrate other marketplaces in one app. I am facing some issues with the marketplace connect app to Etsy:

After connecting my accounts, I am now looking to link the offerings. For the offering without variants/variations, this works fine. For offerings with variants, I have the following issue: Shopify shortens the SKU to the common letters (e.g. RRSD05B and RRSD10B are shown as RRSD). This looks fine as I would assume that it recognizes the matches and applies it to the variants. As soon as I move forward, though, it is showing "Color Black, Quantity 5x", so appears to be trying to associate all SKUs from Etsy with just one from Shopify (Black, 5x would be RRSD05B).

Any idea how this can be solved?

Thanks a lot in advance!

To resolve your issue effectively, consider using MapMyChannel, which provides advanced multi-channel integration for platforms like Shopify and Etsy. It supports precise SKU mapping and variant management, ensuring accurate synchronization across marketplaces. Key advantages include:

  1. Accurate SKU Matching: MapMyChannel ensures that all variants and their SKUs are correctly linked without shortening or mismatching.
  2. Rule-Based Mapping: Automate variant linking with rules for seamless syncing.

Hello,

Josh here from Shopify Marketplace Connect Support.

This appears to be a visual inconsistency with the Link Listings feature app and can be submitted as a bug report if you can contact us using the "Need help?" or "Support" button found on the lower-right portion of the app.

Etsy allows the linking of existing listings on the Parent/Product level hence you're seeing the child/variant SKUs all grouped up when linking with the Parent SKU. If you go into the Listings page you should see that the RRSD SKU has been automatically assigned to the Parent product, because such a concept of having a "Parent" product doesn't exist on Shopify.

If you would reach us via chat or email (marketplace-connect@shopify.com) we can raise this with our Engineering Team to confirm that the variant details on the listing on the right can be removed to avoid confusion.
