Merchize, Custom App Development, and API Token Safety

Does anyone have experience integrating Merchize to their Shopify store? 

Does it integrate the same as other POD companies who have apps on Shopify, such as Printful? I.e. when I create a product on Merchize, can I publish it direct to my Shopify store from their site.  Again, similar to how Printful works. 

Lastly, is it safe for me to give Merchize my API Token as per their instruction on how to create a custom app to integrate Merchize to my Shopify store? I am unfamiliar with the risks, if any, associated with this action.
