Mix and Match Products & Specific Collections

Ok so I haven’t been able to find anything like this on the community here after scouring vigilantly for an answer.

My client sells golf hats & accessories.

He wants to sell a set combo bundle that includes a hat and two accessories (gift box & gloves) for a fixed price.

Options needed:

• the customer can choose any hat from the catalogue 
• choose between a light and dark colored gift box
• size & color of gloves

Many of the bundles I’ve tried all have mix and match entire catalogues, like mix and match all the hats and all the accessories. But I don’t want them to be able to choose 3 hats or 3 accessories. It needs to have a set bundle that they can choose from within each category. Unfortunately I personally do not know of any real samples I can reference. 

Does anyone have any experience with this specific bundling option? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Shopify allows max 100 variants for a product, so you can create a product with the above-said combinations.

Yes, we can create a custom product where all these features will available and you will able to create more custom products.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to respond! 

However my client wants the customer to choose one combo pack from the listing, that consists of the three items.

then somehow the customers can choose what type of hat they want to have the product of. 

I know there are bundlers that you can custom build but then I’d have to make a custom bundle for 20+ hats. that’s too much to maintain. I’m trying to see if there’s a way to create one listing that contains the three items, but the customer can select the type of hat they want, and the size of glove they want. 

Does the method you mentioned contain this ability? If so, can you clarify what you meant and how to achieve this?

As i mentioned earlier shopify only support upto 100 variant and as you explained you have 20+ type of hats, so variant option would not help in this.

To achieve it you have to go for custom dev.

Where all three products will be shown and their variants in drop-down.

After selecting variants they will be add in cart.

do you have a recommendation on which custom dev? Or how to set that up? That’s the part I’ve been struggling with.

Muhammad here from Fast Bundle. I'm almost sure we have the solution for you.

From what I've understood so far, I can suggest two different solutions:

1. the Collection Mix & Match and its Bundle Builder: you can create a bundle and allow customers to buy 1 hat from the Hat collection, 1 pair of gloves from the Gloves collection, and one gift from the Gift collection for a set price. Please take a look at the following example: bundle builder sample

2. create a combo product: this will give you an independent product page for a combo product that is linked to all the items in the combo. But for example the hat must have been defined in a way that it includes all the the other hats as its variants. Check out the sample: combo sample

If you're looking to create mix-and-match bundles with a fixed price, you can achieve this using MBC Product Bundles. It allows you to easily set rules for bundles that pull from specific collections. Here’s how to set it up:

1. Choose the Collection Type Bundle
   Navigate to the app dashboard and select Collection Type from the bundle options.
2. Add the Relevant Collections
   Create or select collections for the items you want to include in the bundle. For example, hats, gloves, and gift boxes. Add them to the bundle and set a rule that customers must pick one item from each collection.
3. Set a Fixed Price
   Assign a single fixed price for the entire bundle, regardless of the items chosen (e.g., $50 for three items). This ensures clarity for both you and your customers.
4. Customize Display and Test
   Clearly display the bundle rules on the product page (e.g., “Choose 1 item from hats, gloves, and gift boxes”). Test the functionality to make sure the fixed price applies correctly at checkout.
