Hello:

I need help deactivating a Facebook channel from a deactivated account.  I have long since not used Shopify, thus it has been deactivated.  I have opened a new Shopify account and am trying to link Facebook (meta) to it, however it states that I am unable to do so due to the face that Facebook is still connected to the old unused Shopify account.  I can not log into this account except to be able to reactivate (Pay) it.  Is there anyway to delink the old account without having to pay to reactivate, then delete the link?  If not can the account be temporarily be reactivated to delink, then close without being charge a full monthly fee?

Thanks for connecting with our network, @MarkM01!

I'd be glad to point you in the right direction with this. Since this change requires account access, there's a few different methods our Support Team may recommend.

  • Connect with the Support Team and request that they unlink your Facebook page from the old account manually
  • Re-open the store, unlink the page, then immediately close it and request a refund. Please consult with a live representative to confirm that they will be able to refund the store fee before re-opening it.
  • In some cases, a representative may be able to grant you temporary access

Either way, we can absolutely support you with unlinking the page without being charged a full monthly fee if you simply share your request here

We look forward to connecting,
