Need help with Facebook Commerce Account (Set Up Error)

Hello,

 

I am trying to connect my Facebook and instagram business accounts to my Shopify and I am experiencing issues. It says it won't allow me to move forward unless I contact Shopify.

There's a technical problem that's preventing your checkout method from being changed. Contact Shopify to help you finish your setup.

Could you please help explain what is going on????

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue with Facebook channel set-up. The reason this error message may be occurring is due to Facebook's API does not correctly create an onsite commerce account. We are currently working with the Facebook team, to resolve this issue.

To fix this, can you try resetting the Facebook channel and refreshing the connection? Usually, by doing this, that will make the error disappear. I would also suggest using an incognito window or clearing your browsers cache. If after this you do continue to encounter this error message, I would recommend you contact our support team directly, here at this link. Because we can't look into account specifics on the Community for privacy and security reasons, your best bet is to reach out to an advisor to look into this with in real time. We may need to loop in our higher technical support team to help troubleshoot this further for you. Have a great day!

Hi all,

Coming back to this thread to share some knowledge in case this is helpful.

I was able to finally resolve my issue - check your address under store details. After connecting with someone from Shopify she was able to confirm that the error in the log was "INVALID_ADDRESS_FOR_COMMERCE_MERCHANT_SETTINGS". Luckily for me, I was already selling on another platform so I copied over the exact address from the shipping labels into this field and it authenticated correctly for me.

When I try to update my address, I receive the error message, "There was a network error. Please try again." - I also tried to update this address through an incognito window as well and still received this error.

I'm still facing this issue. Contacted Shopify Support and they told me is because I'm not eligible, but Facebook confirmed I'm eligible. I have tried to change the address but it keeps showing the same.

Now. I'm being shown with the say alert text and still don't receive any update from Shopify on how to solve this. I don't want to re-install the app again, as I have already done and still happening

I have the same issue however it’s my PayPal not my address. I’m getting error (PayPal not confirmed) but it is. Also you may want to try to create a comer account directly on Facebook business and select Facebook -instagram checkout. Then go back to Shopify and change the commerce information on there. It’s very confusing and Facebook or Shopify seem to be of little help when it comes to get a resolution. I hope this gets corrected as I’m still receiving the error and now have to wait 24 hours to create a new commerce account because I moving to fast when it didn’t work but I only had to delete the pervious catalog but I was impatient and deleted the commerce account all together
