Need to provide upload file option on checkout page

Hello All,

We have a requirement to provide upload file option on checkout page and we are using app 'Upload-Lift' to provide upload functionality. 

We found some articles mentioning to edit checkout.liquid but in the dashboard we could not see checkout.liquid file.

Note: We're using shopify basic plan.

So we have below query:

a) Is it possible to customize checkout page and integrate Upload-Lift app in that page ?

b) Let's say if we build custom API to upload the file, then is it possible to traverse the uploaded file throughout the journey till order placed ?

Thanks for sharing your question with our network. To dive right in, the checkout.liquid is not accessible on the Basic plan in order to keep the checkout secure and functioning. Some plans, such as our Plus plans for enterprise-level stores, can have this functionality unlocked under the supervision of a developer.

With that being said, there are lots of stores that have a requirement similar to yours. We typically recommend that you include the file upload option on the product page, or cart page, prior to check out. Instead of recommending a different app, I did some research on the one you are currently using, and it appears that they do allow file upload to the cart item properties.

If you wanted to skip using an app and build a custom app via API, I would still recommend attaching the upload to the product itself to allow for the smoothest experience and record keeping.
