PayPal as first payment option instead of Shop pay - Symmetry

Hello there! I'm looking to set PayPal as my primary payment option, replacing Shop Pay, on the Symmetry theme. However, I've been informed by Shopify that the checkout process isn't customizable. Does anyone have any workarounds or suggestions on how to achieve this? Additionally, if I remove Shop Pay entirely, will PayPal automatically become the first payment option? Your insights and experiences would be invaluable!

Great question! Thanks for being part of the Shopify Community.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. It's true that the Checkout can not be customized until you're a Plus merchant, but it's also true that you're seeking help for the Product Page customization and not Checkout. So, long story short, it's feasible!

Symmetry is using a dynamic Buy Now button, meaning that the "Buy with shop Pay" button changes based on the popular methods used by the merchants. From my understanding, you want to change that and have the PayPal button displayed there in a permanent, static way. To do that, you'd have to replace the Buy Now button with a PayPal one, custom-coded to have the PayPal logo and colors inside it.

For that, I encourage you to get in touch with a Shopify Expert. There are thousands on the Shopify Directory, freelance platforms and more. I am okay giving it a try myself if you'd like - and that would be free of charge.
