Paywhirl: Payment/subscription not working - bounces between "payment" and "review"

We just found out a strange effect with the "Paywhirl" app we use to handle subscriptions.

Customers are not longer able to actually finalize their subscritions after the payment review. When ever they click "Pay now" they get bounced back to the payment screen where you select PayPal or credit cart. It doesnt matter what payment method is selected, all required fields and acceptences were filled, not error or any sort of message.

We are sure it is a Paywhirl issue as any other products except subscriptions work perfectly. We did not change anything at the shop and we even removed any lately installed apps to exclude conflicts there.

Anyone else experienced a problem like that?

I managed to find some sort of a work-around by changing the shop's setting to not even display the order overview at all. This way the purchases/subscriptions seem to work. But ofcourse this can not be the final solution as this overview screen is import in my opinion.

I am now in tough with Paywhirl directly and hope they find and fix the problem. Will update this post if any news come up.

After alot of testing alongside the Paywhirl support the problem can be narrowed down to the following:

When the checkout overview option is enabled and Paypal is used as payment method the customer gets stuck back and forth between overview and acual payment in the checkout process.

Suggested problem might be a faulty payment gateway used that is not able to handle recurring payments. As the gateways are dealt by Shopify directly I was asked to open a support ticket there. No answer yet, but I will update this post in case of a new and better solution than just disabling the overview completely.

Guten Morgen aus der Hauptstadt,

so we got the same issuu with a different app. It seems like an Shopify issuu, because customers got stuck with paypal and creditcard as well. As I see your problem startet around august. We first noticed this problem in august as well. We contaceted shopify as well, but no solution from them so far.
