App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi, I have an app which is published (i.e. is live on the Shopify app store) and where I want to update the listing and make some improvements.
I'd like to install the app on a development store so merchants looking at the listing can try the app out before installation. However, the "install app on development store" link has gone since the app was accepted for publication, and I now have to accept the billing flow to install the app on the development store.
Is there a way around this? Can I somehow install the published app on one of my development stores? Will I be charged for installing my own app on my own development store if I approve the billing part of the installation flow?
Hi SamCritch
Maybe it will take a charge. But do you have any staging server for the app? So if you have a staging server then you can install your app in the development store and you can implement your functionality and check-in development store. Then you can deploy your changes live app. Otherwise, you can create a separate method in your app that will don't take any charge for a specific store URL.
