problems with App Product Reviews - Cookies in Safari

Hello! I can't connect the "Product Reviews" app, everything ends with this message "Your browser needs to authenticate Product Reviews. Your browser requires apps like Product Reviews to ask you for access to cookies before Shopify can open it for you."

 

My knowledge and what I could read in the instructions is not enough to defeat this problem. Help if you know where to go to MacOS and what to disable / enable to make it work. 

 

Cookies are enabled in Safari settings.
I cleared the cache and restarted the browser

did not help!

and also I was advised in support to use a different browser, but in Chrome and Firefox everything happened again.

Happy to look into this for you. I'd like to go over some additional troubleshooting steps with you in order to resolve the issue.

 

1. Could I have you access the app while you are in your browsers private/incognito mode?
2. Ensure any extensions on your browser such as popup blockers are disabled

3. Open Shopify through the Shopify mobile app on your phone. In addition, you can try while on a different internet connection (such as mobile data)

4. Ensure your browser is up-to-date

Hello,

 

I've had the same issue on Firefox and I was able to resolve it by adding https://productreviews.shopifyapps.com/ as a allowed exception under

Privacy & Security / Cookies and Site Data and it works.

CHROME:
chrome://settings/cookies 
Scroll down to Customised Behaviours / Sites that can always use cookies, click the ADD button and enter https://productreviews.shopifyapps.com/
It seems that Safari completely stopped allowing 3rd party cookies and for now I didn't find any option how to resolve it.
So for me, the only option is to change the browser - until
a) Product Reviews app won't change anything
b) They stop supporting 3rd party cookies on every browser 🙂
