Product bulk deals display like variants on product page

Hi all!

Currently building a Shopify store for a liquor store that has a bricks-and-mortar shopfront. The inventory side of Shopify is being managed by Kounta (a POS system integrated with Shopify). The issue is around cartons of beer/wine. A particular beer, for example, is sold as a single, 6 pack, and 24 pack. The temptation within Shopify is to treat these as variants, with each variant connected to a different SKU in Kounta, however we need Shopify to know about the relationship between singles, 6 packs and cartons to avoid overselling. For example, we need Shopify to know that if there are 21 bottles of Budweiser in stock, there are 21x singles, 3x 6-packs and no cartons in stock. 

A solution we're wanting to employ is treating 6-packs and 24-cartons as bulk buys, but we're having trouble getting them to display as if they were variants. We want them to display more or less exactly like this:

Moreover, we need to be able to set a discount, or ideally a unique sell price for the 6-packs and 24-cartons that isn't just 6 or 24 times the single price. Lastly, we want to be able to disable 6-packs and/or 24-cartons from appearing as an option on some products that are limited in stock.

Any apps that can get us where we need to go?

You can achieve this by bundling up the different variants and link them to the actual inventory item. So in your case you would have a quantity variation option of 1, 6 and 24 as per screenshot. In our bundling app you then bundle up the 6 and 24 variations to be bundles of the single. When an order comes in you can have our app unbundle it so only the components show up as order lines. So for example 6 pack would turn into 6 x 1 (this is useful for fulfilment purposes.

Our app also have the function to calculate the inventory available so if you don't have enough quantity to make up a 6 pack it will show out of stock.
