Product Reviews Not Showing

So I followed the Shopify instructions given by the product reviews app but i still get the error "The reviews code snippet could not be detected in your theme."

Thanks for this, that's the ali reviews app but im trying to get the shopify reviews app which is the code that is not working.

That is most peculiar. I cannot seem to see the code anywhere on that page, only the Ali Reviews code. The Ali Reviews apps allow your customers to write reviews also - was there any reason that you wanted to have both of them?

I liked the shopify reviews app because i could put a carousel reviews thing on my homepage Which I can't with alireviews. But I'm either going to use one or the other in the end

Hi there,

I am having a similar issue. For me the code said it was installed and when i finally got a review I was able to review and publish it. It showed by the "reviews (0)" didn't update to (1). So i tried adding the code again, and now the review is gone and the count is still 0. Please help!

Hey there, @take 

I was able to inspect the code of your them using Chrome's inspect tool and it looks like the snippet of code is in the wrong place, try placing it right after this code instead:

          {%- if section.settings.description_below_add_to_cart -%}
            <div class="ProductMeta__Description Rte">
              {{ product.description }}
            </div>
          {%- endif -%}

It looks like this may be an issue with the theme you are using specifically! I would recommend reaching out to your theme provider as per this guide.

I was having the same issue getting the Product Reviews app installed, your post gave me the perfect solution to get it up and running - thank you! 🙂

It would be helpful if the install instructions could be updated for the app. I followed them and pasted the code where it directed me to, but the instructions lead me to paste the code above the {%- endif -} rather than below it.

Hello! I have reviews on my shop (from the Product Reviews app) and today I moved their location (from underneath the product description to underneath the photos) successfully.

Unfortunately, now one of my product pages has no reviews at all. From the collection page it says "17 reviews" but when you click into the actual product age, there is nothing there. This is only happening on one of my products, link below:

It looks like you are using the Minimal theme. can you try adding the reviews code just above {% if section.settings.social_sharing %} in the product-template.liquid?

When I take a look at your page I cannot seem to find the Product Reviews app code which is powered by Shopify. Did you perhaps install a third-party app such as Stamped.io Reviews & UGC or Yotpo: Photo & Product Reviews? If so, you will need to reach out directly to the app developers for support as per this guide.

Do you use any review apps for your store? I currently use Ali Reviews - https://fireapps.io/Ali-Reviews-App - It helps to display and also pop up reviews for your store. If you have some problems, should try this, it provides trial time so you don't have to worry about payment. Wish you best!

If you are using the Shopify Product Reviews app it would appear that the code has not been installed on your theme. Please follow these instructions to install the code into your theme.

Product reviews is not showing in the product pop-up of the new shopify theme "Express". Snippet is apparently intalled correctly, and code inspection of the product pop-up shows it is there, but the height of the section is zero, and it doesn't show. Any help will be appreciated. I have a similar issue where product reviews stopped showing at some point. For example:

Debi reviewed ALASKA NATIONAL PARKS MAP FLOUR SACK TOWEL on October 23, 2020. However, review does not show on product.

Jeff M. reviewed GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK MAP CAMP MUG on October 19, 2020 but not showing on product.

Has anyone just have product reviews stop showing?

Thank you for reaching out regarding this. So, from what I can see on your screenshot these reviews were left through the Shopify Supported Product Reviews app. However, the reviews app that is currently active on your store appears to be Stamped.io Reviews & UGC which is developed by a third party. I am unsure as to how these customers would have gotten a link to leave a review via the wrong app. Do you currently have a prompt in any of your order confirmation emails to call your customer to action and leave a review? I would recommend reaching out to Stamped.io Reviews & UGC to see if they will be able to help you import these reviews to their app.
