Are you currently using Shopify's Product Reviews application and hoping to populate reviews from past customers outside Shopify's platform? If so, you can certainly ask anyone to post a review on any given product.
If you have made sales outside the scope of your Shopify store, you can contact your customer and provide the direct URL link to your product. In the section for Customer Reviews, the customer can simply click on "Write a review" and enter the information they desire. There is no need to have a customer account through your Shopify store.

Thanks for reaching out about this.
Currently, the Product Reviews application is open for anyone to publish. It cannot be set to previous customers exclusively. However, you can disable the auto publish feature so that you may review the submissions and manually publish them yourself. You can do this directly from the application under Settings:

I'm afraid we are unable to advertise any shops that use Shopify due to security reasons. Therefore, I will not be able to share any stores that currently use the application.

We went ahead and installed the app and we would like help with 2 issues :
1. Alignment issues :
Mobile :
It appears at the end of the screen. Can we move it a little more to the left.
Desk top
1. Can we move it to under where "Wash Care "appears.

I've taken a look at your website and I can see that the application is appearing at the far left corner of the screen both on mobile and desktop. Since you are using a third party theme, it is possible that the theme developer will have to help you with this.
However, I'd like to pass this to our internal developers first to see if they can fix these aesthetic features for you.
I will be sending you an email today so I may escalate this for you.

Also it would be great if you could display a summary of the star ratings higher up on the page ( Below the product title) . It would help inspire confidence.

We are going ahead with the Implementation of asking for Product reviews from Customers who have bought with us. However we see that there is a possibility that the reviews collected might not be as expected . When we sent the message to the customer asking him for a review he lands on the Top of the Product page BUT the " Write a Review" snippet is at the bottom of the page. Check out the Rapid Reviews app https://www.rapidreviews.pro/features/direct-review-page/ as an alternative. Much easier to configure, faster, direct review page, reviews search, etc...

Do you have an offline store along with online?
If yes then you can simply ask your customers to drop feedback on your online store. I know it gets a little tricky because when a customer purchases a product offline there are fewer chances for them to visit your store just for the sake of dropping a review. But wait, there’s some cool stuff I tried to get product reviews from customers who purchased my products offline.
I have an offline store and here’s how I manage to get reviews from them. I simply give them a discount code of like 10-20% off on their purchase. But for them to avail I ask to make a product review video and post it on their Instagram handle. Not necessarily should be a detailed review. It could be a video where the person is using my products.
Well, now you might think how do I manage and make sure the coupon code is sent to the right person or keep a track of customers who have posted a video review.
Here’s my secret sauce, I use an app called Videowise. It helps me to fetch the videos posted by my customers across channels like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. And then adds them to my product page. Thats not all, it also does all the heavy lifting for me by keeping track of people who posted a video. It automatically sends them discount codes for their next purchase.
With this simple hack, I have been able to grow my brand in multiple ways.
1. I get a free product review video from customers
2. I can use them to increase the authenticity of my product when a new customer comes to my store
3. It helps my buyers to clear their second thoughts before making a purchase
4. This is the best one, it makes my offline customers purchase again from me on my online store. The hook is the discount code here 🙂
I think this ninja technique should work for every store that has both an online and an offline presence.
