Products not displaying correctly in Google Merchant Centre

I have set up a google merchant account and it had been running nicely for sometime with sales slowly increasing. I did it with the content API integration. Now I'm a getting fewer sales and a message on the shopify product page that the product is not displaying on google merchant. I have entered the GTIN but have been told I have integrated the shop incorrectly. Shopify has a bug where barcodes are not submitted to GMC, to fix this go to Shopify > Sales Channel > Google > Manage availability > set all custom products to false that have a barcode.
