Put Away Product In Shop - Need App

Hi there,

I own a physical yarn shop. It was always a great feature to be able to put yarn away for a large project and then pay for it skein by skein.

For instore I want to be able to put it into the system, pref using POS, and it reserves the stock then customers can pay for it one by one if they want.

Looked at draft orders but would have to change the order each time.

Does anyone know an app that would do this. I have looked but cannot find one.

If anyone knows if there is anything out there which could do this would be great to know about it.

Thanks,

Jamo

Hi @JamoDesigns,

I know what you mean. You want to sell Yarn by increments is that right?

Yes example:

Customer wants 7 balls of yarn for a project.

They buy 2 and we reserve the other 5
(This needs to be reserved in stock so no one else can buy)
They come in next month, buy another 2. We can just charge for two from the
reserve
Next month they buy the last 3.

It’s called a wool bank and was very popular in the old bricks and mortar
stores before the internet !!!

Hi @JamoDesigns ,

I suppose you want to do this right from POS. Even with a customization you would still be using Draft Orders.

Here’s a great article to reserve inventory on Shopify:

That is great. Have to have a play. Just got to work out how to only pay
for a couple at a time. Thank you for the information. Working on POS would
be great, but not essential as our computers are just behind the till.

Thank you again
