Recommendations: App That Applies Discounts in Bulk to Variants Based on Variant/Product Conditions

Hello,

It may be that I just must use the Shopify Functions API to create a custom function, but before I invest in that, I'm looking for an existing app that can solve my issue. I've been searching for a bit to find one to no avail, so any recommendations would be helpful!

Background: Our store has ~20k products and many more are to be added. Some of the products are forced to use MAP pricing, so we have to display/advertise a certain price, but are able to apply discounts at the cart. Each product has two variants - a "regular" variant and a "sample" variant. The only attributes/conditions we can use to target variants given our set up are:

1. "{{variant sku}} contains {{string}}"
2. "{{variant option value}} equals/contains {{string}}"
3. "{{variant.metafields.custom.xyz}} equals/contains {{string}}"

The issue/need: I need an app that will automatically apply a discount in bulk to individual variants of a product based on a set of conditions that includes product metafield (product.metafields.custom.xyz) AND one (or more) of either variant sku, variant option value, or variant metafield (variant.metafields.custom.xyz).

An example: apply 10% discount to all variants whose (parent) product has a metafield value of "BrandX" AND variant sku contains/does not contain "-samples".

Hi, there are many bulk discount plugins available. How come that none of them work for you?

There certainly are a lot of bulk discount plugins available. I personally have not tried any of them out just yet. However, I just went through an almost identical scenario with bulk shipping policy assignment plugins and had to spend a great deal of time troubleshooting how to get the plugin that I thought was a 100% fit to be able to correctly assign individual variants. This time around, with the knowledge that targeting variants isn't the easiest thing in the world and with my particular requirements, I wanted to ask for recommendations from others that may have possibly been through a similar situation. That way, I can hopefully avoid investing too much time into it and possibly having to set up/pay for multiple apps before finding the right one.

Thank you for the offer! I'm actually a developer as well, but was holding off on developing it myself unless I needed to for a few different reasons. I've have to keep expense and other factors in mind, but I'll let you know if I'm interested in exploring having you develop it instead.
