REST API: Add new variants to product without options

Hi,

is there a way to create new variants for an existing product without options. 

My scenario is, that i have to create products, without knowing the options it will get, but afterwards i have to add variants with options, and I want to do it via the REST-API. 

I know I can add variants with one option and the title "default title", but I want to add variatns with two or three options and also with a specific title, e.g size, color, material.
