Search & Discover app - how to disable variants showing up?

Hi there, 

I'm using the Shopify Search & Discovery App. I'm trying to find a way to disable variant options from showing up in the search results. So only the product listing parents will show up. Can anyone point me in the right direction how I might be able to do this?
