Seeking App Recommendation for Automated Inventory Management Across Products and Packs

Hi Team,

We sell products across various sales channels and our website, and sometimes list products as single items and other times as packs. For instance:

• Product A with SKU# 1234
• Product B with SKU# 1234-2, which is a pack of 2 of Product A

I am looking for an app that can automate inventory management for Product B. Specifically, I need the app to:

1. Automatically adjust the inventory quantity for Product B when I update the stock for Product A.
2. Update inventory quantities for both Product A and Product B in real-time based on orders.

Example Scenario:

• Product A starts with 7 units in stock. The app should calculate that Product B has 3 packs available (since each pack contains 2 units of Product A).
• If an order is placed for Product B, the app should adjust the inventory: Product B’s stock becomes 2 packs, and Product A’s stock updates to 5 units.
• If an order is then placed for Product A, the inventory should be updated to 4 units for Product A and 2 packs for Product B.
• Another order for Product A would then update Product B’s inventory to 1 pack, reflecting that only 3 units are available for Product A.

Any recommendations or solutions for this issue would be greatly appreciated. We’ve been facing several challenges due to this need.

Hi @ExoticP,

The app Material Manager can help with this. It allows you to enter raw materials and then set your variants to use different amounts of the raw material. When a variant is sold it updates the raw material quantity which in turn updates the inventory for every variant linked to that material.

For your example you would create a raw material called "Product A". You would link your variant "Product A" to it, setting it to use 1 of the raw material. Then you would link "Product B", setting it to use 2 of the raw material.

When either product is sold it would update the inventory for both in the way you describe in your scenario.

The Easify Inventory Sync app can help with your inventory management needs 🤗. It allows you to easily create a Bundle group to link Product A and Product B:

• Product A (1 unit): This is your Component (base) product, reflecting the total actual inventory in single units. Set its Quantity per bundle to 2.
• Product B (pack of 2): This is your Master product.

Once you set up the Bundle group, here’s what you can expect:

• The quantity of Product B will be automatically calculated based on the quantity of Product A.
• When Product A is purchased, the quantity of Product B will be updated according to the remaining quantity of Product A.
• Conversely, when Product B is purchased, the quantity of Product A will decrease by 2.

The app will ensure that your inventory is tracked accurately as needed.
