Seeking Checkout App with Prescription Approval Feature for Pharmacy

Hello,

I am looking for a checkout app that requires "prescription approval." Customers need to upload their medical prescriptions as images or PDFs, which the store can then review and approve before allowing the checkout process to proceed. This is for a pharmacy where some items can only be purchased with a valid prescription. The app should be able to hold the checkout until the store approves the order.

Is there an app that support this feature?

Hi, 

I am not aware with any such app. I have few questions, if you are interested, be can develop plugin for you. 

1. Are you on Shopify Plus ? (If no, then sorry, even if such app exists, you will not be able to use)

2. Let say customer have items in cart that need prescription approval. How store owner will approve it ? Should customer place draft order ? Checkout will be hold until prescription is approved ?

Thank you for your response.

1. We are not using Shopify Plus. We are planning to develop a Shopify store for our client, so this inquiry is more of a pre-sale question.
2. The process we have in mind is as follows: When a customer wants to purchase a product requiring prescription approval, they will need to upload the prescription—either from the checkout page or the product page. Since we are unsure about the checkout process possibilities, we envision two options: Customers could upload the prescription directly from the product page and wait for approval, or they could place the order, but payment would not be processed until the store manually approves the order after verifying the prescription (handled in the backend by doctors). The customer would receive a notification/email about the pending prescription approval and, once approved, they would be notified again with a link to complete the checkout process.

Regarding the need for a Shopify Plus account, would we be unable to customize the checkout process for this purpose even with custom development or app integration without Shopify Plus?
