App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
When our products are out of stock, we accept orders as reservations. In such cases, we use Shopify Flow to tag these orders with a "reservation" tag, and we want to automatically send emails to customers with this tag. Is there any way to achieve this? We are currently using Klaviyo, and we were hoping to manage this process through Klaviyo.
However, we've discovered that it's not possible to extract tags added later, which seems to be a limitation. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi @Asug I think if you will use klaviyo app in the shopify store then it can be manageable, if not then the easiest way to solve this solution is that you can use shopify email through which you can easily send the email to the customers with certain tags that you are adding after some time.
Shopify email can easily be managed through the shopify flow app as well and you can have the custom template in shopify email as well.
Shopify email gives you first 10,000 emails each month free. After, that pricing starts at $1/1000 emails per month.
Hopefully it will help you. If yes then Please hit Like and Mark it as solution!
If you still need any assistance then please feel free to ask the same.

Thank you for your response. I apologize for any confusion in my previous message.
I currently use Klaviyo and wanted to extract and send emails for items with a Pre-order tag. However, it was mentioned that the Pre-order tag is applied after the order is placed (at the point of stock depletion), and it is not a product tag but an order tag. Therefore, it is not possible to distinguish retrospectively assigned tags.
As I would like to send emails both after an order is placed and after a certain period following the order, it is not achievable using Shopify's email system.
Hi @Asug I was thinking of some other way if the klaviyo system is not picking up the tags that shopify has added later on. So if you are pre selling the product you can add pre order in the name of the variant or the product so that it can be collected by klaviyo and you can easily send the emails to the customer from klaviyo itself.
Usually Klaviyo use to collect all the data from shopify even if it is added after the order is placed maybe they have removed this now as I am not sure about this, but the above suggestion can work well for you.
Regarding shopify email: I think it can easily be achievable from shopify email as for tagging the order you have already using shopify flow, just you need to add a action in the same shopify flow that once the tag will be added a certain email template will be fire, and if you want to send other email you can add other flow or may be you can first add a condition in the same flow that it have to wait for some time and then a action i.e. it will fire the email.
Hopefully my suggestion is more clear to you and will helped you. If yes then Please hit Like and Mark it as solution!
If you still need any assistance then I am ready to help you and do it for you, so please feel free to ask the same.

I'm interested. I've done this but I can send email only to marketing subscribed people. How can I send e-mail to every customer?
Hi @Asug
This can be achieved by custom APP by which you will be able to assign the time after which you want to email for after order take place.
APP will use klaviyo to send email.
Let me know if interested
We have an automation app that can allow you to sync order tags to klaviyo. This is an example workflow that it similar to that:
https://www.getmesa.com/blog/sync-fulfillment-status-to-klaviyo-for-transactional-email/
I could modify that one for you to do what you're looking to do, if you're interested.
Thanks,
Kalen
