App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
HI,
I recently noticed that my Google Merchant Center is offering a new feature called 'Set up automated discounts' for Shopify and WooCommerce websites. After adding my account information, the next step is to 'Update your feed and conversions setup.' The recommendations include adding [cost_of_goods_sold] and [auto_pricing_min_price] to my feed, as well as setting up conversions with cart data on my website. I'm using the Google & YouTube Shopify app, and I'm wondering if there's a way to update these recommendations directly through the app? Alternatively, are there any other methods you would recommend for implementing these changes?
There is currently no automatic system to set this up, and you need to manually implement this.
1) Add the data in the feed using custom meta fields
You can also use https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds
Which allows you to map metafields as well. And also the cost of goods attribute. Which might be a bit simpler then the Google and Youtube app in terms of setup (assuming you have added the auto_pricing_min_price attribute, you could also set up a percent of price for this attribute, so no extra metafields are needed).
2) Update your checkout to accept automated discounts (contact a shopify developer)
