I'm referring specifically to the Shop sales channel app.
A lot of my products have customization options / user-defined properties (not variants) that are rendered by my theme.
How can I allow for customers on the Shop app to choose their customization options?
There doesn't even appear to be an option to provide an order note at checkout.
I've just had some orders placed via the Shop app and I'm now having to contact them directly for their colour preferences.
I don't think it's possible now, but Shopify recently announced Shop Minis, which will allow developers to extend the Shop app. It's in early access now.
So, it's only a matter of time before either you or a developer (*cough cough* me) is able to add order notes & customization, etc. to the product pages and checkout in the Shop app.
did this ever come about? We still cant find a shop mini that lets there be a notes field. And all the product option apps seem to have not bothered to link up to metafields to support shop minis

Unfortunately, Shopify never approved my application to develop Shop Minis, so I've moved onto other projects.
Hopefully another developer can take on this opportunity.

I am currently using this app (Easify Options) but am running into an issue similar to the OP if I understand them correctly.
On my website, the options are all listed and showing for customers to choose, but when they try to purchase the same item through the Shop App, the Easify Options app option sets (so they can customize their items) are not showing as available. It simply has them add the base item to cart without adding any upgrades, choosing their color or style.
