Shopify API Doesn't support cancelled line items - any work around?

We use an app called Instasheets which automatically exports orders to Google Sheets. It can also export order updates. One limitation of the app is that it cannot trigger an export on a line item being cancelled/removed. Apparently this is because Shopify's API does not support this. 

Is there any workaround to get these cancelled line items to trigger an app export. For example, can I somehow make the cancelling of a line item trigger the creation of a tag because that tag would then trigger an export. 

We rely heavily on Gsheets and various systems we've built off of that so this limitation is quite a problem.

Other than cancelled line items, as far as I can tell every other order detail and update is available through the API however, if there are any other ones that I'm missing could you please point them out?
