Shopify App payment recurring application charge

One of my apps has two subscription options: Basic (3$) and Pro (5$) are available on a monthly basis. Is it possible to switch from one subscription to another? For example, a user who pays $3 for one month on the basic plan may switch to the pro plan in the middle of the month and pay just $2 (5-3)$ for the second half of the month.
Is it possible to accomplish this with a recurring application fee?
