Shopify Digital Download App - How Do I Remove/Hide Deleted Products From Dashboard?

This is a followup to post https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-apps/shopify-digital-download-app-how-do-i-remove-hide-delet... which unfortunately does not seem to be covered although people keep asking questione there:

Basicly the issue is how to remove download from the "Shopify Digital Download" app if the related product has been deleted already. Currently you just get a message saying ""This product has been removed from your admin."  without any option to remove the fragmented download.

Uninstalling the app, waiting some time for automatic data deletion and all this things don't word. You can also not recreate the product to link the download again as you can not even enter the editing option for relinking.

The app is so far the easiest and simplest app out there to offer digital product to customers and obviously shop owners are still using it. Yet it unfortunately seems un-maintained so any support or workaroung would be highly appreciated.
