App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Looking for details on how emails are collecting. Not following how store has obtained almost 700 additional emails that are not marked for subscription. Exported and not counting spam.
A few additional quesitons
- How can i see where they come from and date received?
- Looking for a process that will reach out to them when that email comes in to ask then to subscribe.
Thank you,

To understand how emails are being collected on your Shopify store, you can check your store's settings to see if there are any forms or pages that allow customers to provide their email addresses. Some common ways that customers may provide their email addresses include
1. Newsletter signup forms
Many Shopify themes include newsletter signup forms in the footer or sidebar of your store. Customers can provide their email addresses here to receive updates and promotions from your store.
2. Checkout page
During the checkout process, customers are prompted to provide their email addresses to receive order confirmations and updates on their orders.
3. Contact page
If you have a contact page on your store, customers may provide their email addresses when submitting a message or inquiry.
4. Pop-ups and banners
Some Shopify apps allow you to display pop-ups or banners on your store that prompt customers to provide their email addresses in exchange for a discount code or other incentive.
Once you've identified where emails are being collected, you can check the date that each email was received by exporting your customer list from Shopify. This will show you the date that each customer was added to your store's database.
If you want to reach out to customers who have provided their email addresses but have not subscribed to your newsletter, you can use an email marketing app such as Klaviyo to create a welcome email that encourages customers to subscribe. This email can be triggered to send automatically when a customer's email address is added to your store's database. In the email, you can explain the benefits of subscribing to your newsletter and include a clear call-to-action that directs customers to a subscription form.
