Why isn't my connected card reader working on Shopify POS?

I have my card reader connected but when I go to checkout it says "Manual entry" How can I use my card reader if it all states it is connected?

A few questions:

  • Which card reader are you using?
  • Did you connect the card reader via Bluetooth or through the POS app?
