Shopify Product Reviews App Discontinued?

I just got notified by a client that this app is no longer available in the app store. Dawn is built entirely around this app (that and the Search & Discovery app) so I'm a little annoyed that they'll get rid of it without any notice or recommendations for similar free apps we can use instead. What's everyone else doing? Are there any 100% free reviews app you recommend?

I appreciate your feedback. When we made this decision we partnered with some of our reliable and existing app partners to ensure free options were available. These third party apps are more robust and provide more functionality then we are able to offer through the old first party reviews app we had.

Is Shopify giving any consideration to keeping the Shopify Reviews App alive?

We are about to make the change to a new app using the downloaded data.  Unfortunately, it looks like we will need to do some development work since years ago we did some custom coding around the in-house Shopify Product Reviews App. This is an expense we did not budget for so thought I'd check one final time.

WHY is it being removed? Its absolutely pathetic to pay hundreds per year to Shopify and have basic features removed.

Our reviews app called Kooee Reviews is a great alternative.

There is a free plan that is sufficient for most stores and a Pro plan if you are after more advanced functionality.

You can also import the Product Reviews CSV straight in, without any need to reformat it.

I, too, received notification this app will no longer be available. Will this remove/delete all the reviews currently on the website?

We get it – this change can be a bit of a hassle. Unfortunately, on May 6, 2024, the Shopify Product Reviews app will be discontinued, and your existing reviews will no longer be visible on your site. The important thing is to act before that date! Export your current reviews as a CSV file to save them.
The good news: Ali Reviews Product Reviews | Shopify App Store makes it easy to import reviews from a CSV file for FREE.
