Shopsync-Shopify-Mailchimp ecosystem, Sync does not work

So I have a Shopify onlinestore, work with Mailchimp for Newslettering. My shop is built in Shopify and we are using Shopsync for data transmission. I initially set Shopsync up so I could track shopping behaviour of Newsletter subscribers. 

I have a newsletter popup on my home-page (Shopify) that should be collecting and transmitting Emails to the customer list "accepting marketing".  And from how I understand the "role" of Shopsync, those new customers should be transferred to my mailing list in Mailchimp daily. All of this does not happen when users subscribe via the Pop Up. 

Anyone experienced something similar before?
