App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I was charged by apps that i canceled before the trial ended a week + later. How is this possible, why the vf does shopify always shift the blame to the apps creators for those problems, i never get any single solution by support. I am buying the app via shopify app store, THE MONEY TAKEN FOR THE APPS IS VIA SHOPIFY. What is this nonsense that its 3rd party app problem.. tierd of this s.
When theres a problem its always the problem of the “3rd party app” even if it was, my money was taken BY SHOPIFY, it was on the bill, why the vf do i need to contact the 3rd party app provider, do your job figure it out for yourself, why do i need to contact them!!
Hi @Jaak14
This is Glass It, a price tracking service, with a free price history checker. Having just released our first app in the Shopify App store, I might be able to provide some insight here. Basically when developers make an app and program the billing logic, they have to choose between recurring Billing and one time app charges. I'll be honest, Shopify is a bit confusing in this regard. They do in fact control billing, and know when/if apps are uninstalled. But I think the issue is when you uninstall a Shopify app, if you created an account with the external app you technically agree to any terms of use they may have. Best you can do is try to contact them to cancel billing if this is the case. Now back to the weirdness, I don't understand why I can't list Glass It as "Free to install" with one-time app charges. That is technically how we implemented the Shopify Billing API - using one-time app charges - selected by users when they request service from us. But for some reason the only way Shopify allowed Glass It Price Tracker to be listed was by showing recurring app charges on the listing, and they said it was because we show a monthly rate on our website. I explained to the App review specialist we do not collect any automatic/recurring payments, and we also state this prominently in our app on the order screen when users make payments. But that's the only way we could get our app approved in the Shopify App store
