Someone please build this app for sales tax nexus!

For shops that sell only physical items, US sales tax nexus is easy. Shopify now shows nexus obligation in the tax settings, TaxJar can calculate it, etc. But if you sell digital items, things get trickier and there isn't an app on the store that solves this.

My goal isn't to make a nexus calculation app, but rather to accurately show customers the number of transactions and net sales for orders/line items that are physical vs digital, as well as show tax liabilities in each state (using an API).

Even Shopify's tax nexus doesn't show you your liability. This is important because you don't necessarily have to register in every state where you have nexus. If you only owe a tiny amount of money to a particular state, you may decide not to register there. The state has no way to track you down. 

Most CPAs do what's called a nexus study and it usually costs about $1,500, sometimes more. But if you had the right data, you could decide where to register without doing a full-blown study. At the very least the app would aid a CPA in helping you make decisions without doing the study. So essentially this would be a nexus study app.

Would be a great app for the app store. I am a UX designer if anyone wants to collaborate.
