App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I'm hoping to pull an inventory valuation report from Shopify or Stocky in order to reconcile our accounting records at end of the month. I see some reports available, but I have the following issues with each...
-Shopify's "month end inventory value" report - I believe the cost column is based on the "cost price" rather than the "average cost". We need average cost in order to be accurate. Is there a way to have Shopify pull the "average cost" into this field/column on the report?
-Stocky's "stock on hand" report - If I want to see the item level detail, it appears that I need to run it exactly on the month-end close date. Historical data is offered, but the item level detail is not displayed. Is there a way to see item-level detail for a prior date?
Thanks for any help that can be offered!
When you refer to "average cost" are you referring to the average cost based on actual stock purchases, or just the cost over time?
I'm referring to the "average unit cost" field which is calculated by Stocky through actual stock purchases. It's pretty well outlined here... https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/shopify-pos/inventory-management/stocky/reporting/...
I can find this cost in Stocky reports, but seems like it's maybe a Stocky-specific field that doesn't sync over to the Shopify product page?
Understood. I am quite sure that Shopify does not keep that data and it is specific to Stocky. I'm not as familiar with Stocky reporting, so maybe someone else has better information about what is possible there.
