Third Party API to add Product

I am searching for a way to use a third party API to populate a product image and meta data into a regular Dwan themed Shopify store. The store will have a single product. When a Buy Button link is clicked on a third party site the sites API will deliver an image and meta data that I wish to be the product of my Shopify store. Thus allowing variants to be chosen and cart check out... Any Ideas of how and who can build this if it is possible? Thanks
