thought it would be simple - need a solution to offer shipping discounts

i am trying to find a solution to a shipping problem. we are consolidating shipping to UPS only due to an astronomical amount of issues with postal (over 50% of packages sent via postal arrive late... the rest are slow, go missing, damaged, etc). i have complained to our local branch for years - and they simply do not care. 

my issue: i need to be able to discount per shipping group (manually sorted group of products, or done via tag/collection) the CALCULATED shipping rates based on the customers cart total. either a flat discount or a percentage can work. flat shipping rates simply will not work for us - it has to be calculated.

for example: customer buys $25 worth of product... their ups ground rate is discounted 25%. buy $50... ups ground rates discounted by 50%. etc. 

i can find few that offer that capability... and the few that do are going to cost us $40-100 per month, which is insane when we are talking about basic out of the box functionality that is present in other ecom platforms. 

open to suggestions.

This is not possible using Shopify Shipping.

You may consider using Shopify flat rates and providing shipping rates based on order value slabs.

0-$25 - $5

$25-$50 - $9

etc.

The Multi Carrier Shipping Label app has rules conditions based on the order total, and actions that can be added include shipment price adjustment—a fixed value or %.

Please note that this is a paid app and also requires CCS to be enabled on your Shopify plan.
