App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
After using a third party Etsy sync app for a while I decided to swap to the new Marketplace Connect app. (I foolishly thought having a more native integration would be better)
I connected an Etsy store to our website using Marketplace Connect yesterday.
I discovered this morning that it has since deleted dozens of our Etsy listings, including multiple best sellers. (along with years worth of Etsy marketplace rankings.)
Prior to being deleted, the Etsy listings were mapped within Marketplace Connect to their respective shopify products.
Now when I am in the Marketplace Connect app, I can see the info from the deleted Etsy listings but with all their respective attribute, category, and tag info stripped. (Title, description, shipping profile, images from original listing remain). In the attribute mapping section I have it set to preserve everything about the original etsy listing but the price and SKU which will be updated through Shopify.
Questions:
-Is there any way to resurrect the deleted Etsy listings with their original URLs and listing IDs? Or is there someone I should speak to about this?
- Why did it delete Etsy listings?
- How do I prevent Marketplace Connect from stripping all the attributes, tags, product category etc
(A help request has also been submitted through the app)
Hi,
Joy V here from Marketplace Connect support. Sorry to hear that your Etsy listings got deleted from your account. Regrettably, the application does not have the capability to recover deleted Etsy listings once they have been removed from your Etsy account.
The application, by default, does not initiate the automatic removal of listings from the marketplace. Such removal only occurs under two specific circumstances: if the listings' status has been manually changed within the app from "Active" to "Inactive," or if there was an incorrect mapping of the Status field on the Attribute Mapping page of the app.
To safeguard your attributes, tags, and other listing details from being removed when your listings are linked to your Shopify products through the app, our developers have recently introduced a feature that allows you to customize your listing preferences. If you desire to preserve all your listing details on Etsy, you can opt to Use Etsy Rules during the linking process.
If you have further questions/concerns, feel free to contact us anytime at marketplace-connect@shopify.com.
Yeah, that doesn't work. I chose to have Etsy preserve the listing data, but they were all turned inactive. Fortunately, I've not lost all of my listings like this poor person has, but the app is broken and I feel like this is not being taken seriously enough.
There should be a warning when using the app that it will deactivate all synced listings (which, at a cost to us, we'll have to reactivate later).
Very poor.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your feedback on this matter. We want to assure you that we are actively addressing the link listing issue on Etsy, and our dedicated team of developers is diligently working on resolving it. Please rest assured that our intention is not to terminate all listings linked through the app. The issue you experienced may be the result of a bug, and our developers are actively working to identify and rectify the problem.
We appreciate your patience as we work to provide a solution to this issue. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at marketplace-connect@shopify.com.
I am experiencing the same problem. Have you discovered any solution to retrieve the lost data?
I have encountered the same problem. Etsy listings totally disappeared, and no bulk upload options to re-instate them (also costly even if it were possible to bulk upload). Disastrous.
