App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Dear all,
I want my users to have an account management system with federated identity support so that I can login with different identities such as Facebook, Google, and/or Apple. (potentially integrating AWS Cognito with Shopify).
Since we make products with serialized numbers to validate their purchases I want my user to register their purchases with the verification codes pasted on their purchases so that I can verify that I am the owner of these serialised purchases. (a database consisting of these verification codes associated with each product is created on AWS DynamoDB)
Please do let me know if there is a way to connect these services to our Shopify Store.
Hello @YogaBear,
Your task is not simple and requires custom coding for sure, but I feel you describe just a part of the integrations and automation features you have in your store. It is hard to provide some suggestions not knowing the full picture.
What products do you sell?
What is the reason for users to have an account management system? What options should it give to users?
Feel free to add other important details.
Best regards,
Anastasia
Dear @Stacy_Zhuk ,
Yes I do believe this is going to be a hard and big project to integrate.
A little more background below for you to understand better.
We sell merchandize for existing fantasy / table top games.
Some products serve your casual shoppers like your Mystery Boxes, while some products serve your serious collectors like high end statues.
Those products that are high end, comes with their own specific certification/verification token.
For example, there are 10 statues worldwide.
You bought the 4th statue so it'll be indicated 4/10.
This particular statue comes with a particular certification/verification token in DynamoDB.
Customer would need to register their account for these products and key in their details to claim ownership, or when they want to transfer ownership to another.
**Once they have registered DynamoDB auto ties this particular product and verification to their name**
So that will need a user authentication/management service (Cognito) and a database (DynamoDB) , where we can manage all these information and for customer to also see what their product details are.
If you do have another way we can do this, we would definitely love to know.
Hello @YogaBear,
The way to connect these services to the Shopify store and account inside it is the creation of a Shopify app and a custom page/block inside myaccount that will display pull data from both (or one of) AWS Cognito and AWS DynamoDB. It would be the small-to-average scale Shopify integration app that will work for your store exclusively. When you message "so that I can login with different identities such as Facebook, Google, and/or Apple" - You mean each buyer can login OR you want to login on their behalf?
Best regards,
Anastasia
